GEO Suspicious Person Occurence Leads to Recovered Stolen Heavy Equipment

 (Georgian Bay Township)- Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded on the afternoon of 12 November 2014 to several reports from the community of a suspicious male being around a vacated business property on Pine Valley Road in Georgian Bay Township.

Attending officers located the suspicious male and removed him from the property under the Trespass to Property Act with an order not to return.

While at the property in an unrelated investigation a piece of heavy equipment was located and the subsequent investigation revealed that the 2005 Bobcat mini excavator was on file as being stolen.

As a result of the investigation a Midland man who the victim of the theft was united with his Bobcat.

Officers would like to remind local citizens that by making a note of suspicious persons and or vehicles and reporting those observations to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) helps keep our communities safer for all to enjoy.
